Ajay Devgn in an interaction with Sit with Hitlist.
Ajay Devgn, who has carved an identity of his own and enjoys being in his own league, sat with an exclusive interaction with Sit with Hitlist team. The actor, who is gearing up for his upcoming film Raid, delved deeper into his career-span of 25-30 years and gave some interesting anecdotes from his life. The hypnotic-eyed actor, who has charmed the audience with his exceptional acting skills, says that he doesn’t “get” into a role.
When Ajay Devgn was asked about his craft and that it simply takes two-three minutes before a shot for him to get into the role, he denied and revealed, “I still don’t know how to ‘get’ into a role. Even if I sit down and say, “Let me work hard on my acting”, it doesn’t happen. This is how I am. I can do it only spontaneously. My directors know that I will not be able to do a rehearsal or remember my lines there. I cannot. It’s just that when the camera starts rolling, you start feeling and thinking like the character. And that’s my only preparation — to know what my character will do, or behave, in a situation. That’s the only system I follow. In between shots, as soon as it’s a cut, we have fun, even when the most emotional scenes are happening.”
The actor is currently gearing up for his film Raid, where he essays the character of an IT Commissioner. The movie centres around the story of Sharda Prashad Pandey, an IT Commissioner of Lucknow who had raided the house of businessman Sardar Inder Singh in 1981 and recovered assets worth Rs 1.6 crore in cash and gold.
Also starring Ileana D’cruz as Devgn’s wife, the film releases on March 16, 2018.
